The EU FP7 project ADVENTURE was conducted from Sept 2011 to Aug 2014. The final review took place in Oct 2014 with an exciting on site demonstration at Ford automotive in Wales. The reviewers assessed the overall project achievement with the best rating of "excellent progress".
ADVENTURE provides a platform for building virtual factories of the future. Specifically, it is possible that the manufacturing processes are designed and implemented in interplay with the partners, e.g., suppliers. Moreover, ADVENTURE offers the possibility to simulate, forecast, and even adapt running manufacturing processes during runtime. This offers totally new options for innovative business models (see also article on Industrie 4.0 published in OCG Journal, in German).
The WST group contributed with its deep knowledge on manufacturing processes (Industrie 4.0 Prozesse). In particular, one of the main technologies used in ADVENTURE is the Cloud Process Execution Engine (CPEE) that enables easy design and implementation of flexible cloud process (see also BPM 2014 demo article).
